A Little Bit About Me
Hello, my name is Zackary Garcia and I grew up in Klamath Falls for majority of my life. I am 24 years old and I am married to my beautiful wife, Isabelle. We have been married for three years but together for ten years. I am currently serving in the Oregon Nation Guard and have been in for over three years now. Prior to enrolling in Oregon Tech, I had been out of school for six years and I was nervous to continue pursuing a higher education. However, my personal goal of becoming an officer has driven me to begin working and improving myself. My decision to return to school was not an easy one but I knew it was something I had to do.
Why I Chose Oregon Tech and My Major
I grew up in Klamath Falls, and I have always heard good things about Oregon Tech from members of the community and close friends of mine. Once I decided on Oregon Tech, I also discovered that my previous college credits were accepted and fit nicely into one of the degree programs they offered. Overall, the transition to Oregon Tech has been easy and welcoming, far surpassing my expectations.
My Influential Professors
My influential professors have been Professor Schnackenberg in Communications and Professor Clint in Humanities and Social Sciences. The way they conducted their classes with passion, paired with the wealth of knowledge they had in their respective fields, influenced my perception of the school in a positive way. It made me eager to learn more from them and to also look forward to what other professors would be like at Oregon Tech.
My Greatest Learning Experience At Oregon Tech
When I started at Oregon Tech, I was amazed by the friendliness of the professors paired with the high quality of teaching they provided. Every class I took made me feel like I learned something new that I could take with me into the future. Through Oregon Tech, I have re-learned that education can be interesting and fun while still preparing me for a successful future.
My Plans After Graduation
Once I have my degree, I plan on following a career in the Oregon National Guard as a commissioned officer. I want to keep pushing myself to be better and to achieve bigger goals.
