A Little Bit About Me

I was born in rural Washington and at the age of 2 I moved to New York so that my Dad could finish his master's degree in International Business. Shortly after, my family moved to Utah, where I spent the next eight years of my life. Following that, we moved to Oregon to be closer to family. I like to say I was raised in Oregon because it feels like home to me. Over the years, I always tried hard to excel in school but faced a constant obstacle. Later on, I was diagnosed with major depressive disorder. I overcame depression in the same way I've overcome everything in life: work. I went to therapy and did all I could to better my mental health until, gradually, I felt myself being set free. I continue onward today, happier than ever with my wife and soon, a daughter.

Why I Chose Oregon Tech and My Major

I chose Oregon Tech because I wanted to go to a quality school where I could focus on my learning and get the best quality for the price. I chose to study cybersecurity because it is something that both fascinates me and uses skills that I already have. I love the aspects of creativity, determination, and technical skill needed to succeed and I am driven to improve upon my current abilities in order to excel.

My Influential Professors

I look forward to developing professional relationships with each of my professors at Oregon Tech. I feel that the connections I make and the network I build will be an invaluable tool for the whole course of my professional career and that it will help me to become more involved in the community and more excited about learning. I trust that my professors are experts in their field and that they are fully equipped to guide me and teach me everything I need to know and more.

My Greatest Learning Experience At Oregon Tech

At Oregon Tech, I am excited to bring my unique perspective and life experience. I have been blessed to work in many positions of leadership during my high school and college career and hope to be able to further my learning at Oregon Tech by participating in unique opportunities and always trying to serve others.

My Plans After Graduation

After graduating college, I would like to work for the federal government. I am interested in using cybersecurity skills in investigations and/or intelligence. This interests me because it is very important and difficult work that I feel would have a big payoff in terms of job satisfaction. Additionally, I feel that by serving in this way, I could be of the most benefit to the greatest amount of people, which has always been my greatest goal in life.
