A Little Bit About Me
I am a wife, mother, local business owner, and student in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program at Oregon Tech. My husband is an Oregon Tech Alumni who played baseball for Oregon Tech. Additionally, I come from an Oregon Tech Alumni family. I grew up in Happy Valley, Oregon where I moved to Klamath Falls, Oregon in 2018 just after marrying my high school sweetheart. Within our first year being married we started school at Oregon Tech, bought our first home in Klamath Falls, and found out we were expecting our son (total surprise!). In the middle of my pregnancy the pandemic hit, and I delivered my son in the peak of COVID. Since then, I'm working hard at bettering myself, my family, my community, and hopefully, making a difference in my patients lives.
Why I Chose Oregon Tech and My Major
I chose the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program through Oregon Tech because of its exceptional nationwide reputation along with instructors with years of clinical experience and knowledge in this field.
My Influential Professors
My influential professors are Robyn Cole, Bobbi Kowash, and Rose McClure. Rose McClure was my Anatomy and Physiology professor who helped me navigate through adulthood and is an incredible professor and a wonderful friend who I respect deeply. My program professors, Robyn Cole and Bobbi Kowash, are two woman I respect in the highest regards. They fuel my passion for ultrasound in the ways they share clinical experiences that relate to current lecture material, etc. I am so fortunate to have such wonderful professors guiding and growing my skills in the field of ultrasound that will overall have a positive impact on so many patients!
My Greatest Learning Experience At Oregon Tech
The ability to carry a positive attitude and kindness wherever I go, in hopes it's contagious at Oregon Tech.
My Plans After Graduation
After graduating with my degree my goal is to use my ultrasound skills in areas that lack access to medical care. My hope is to also gain years of experience in the field to potentially teach one day in the field of ultrasound.
