Prospective Oregon Institute of Technology students and their families can now explore Oregon Tech’s Klamath Falls campus from a computer anywhere in the world. The university has partnered with YourCampus360, a company that specializes in creation of virtual online college campus tours.

These virtual tours provide the opportunity for people to experience the campus as if they were on a guided walking tour, and can be accessed from multiple platforms, including Oregon Tech’s website, Facebook page, and on smartphones. The Virtual Campus Visit includes rich-media, video content and 360-degree panoramic views of the campus, can now be viewed from Oregon Tech’s home page at www.oit.edu.

“A campus visit is quite possibly the most effective way that students and their families decide if a college or university is the right fit for the student. Adding a virtual tour is Oregon Tech’s way of providing another means to help students and their families make a very significant decision in the student’s life,” commented Carl Thomas, director of admissions.

“The virtual tour does not replace an in-person campus visit and talking to an admissions counselor, but it does give people an idea of what our campus is like and what to expect when they get here. It’s another tool to encourage exploration of Oregon Tech and to encourage on-campus visits,” said Thomas.

The tour starts at the most recognizable campus icon, the fountain, and leads visitors through many labs and state-of-the-art classrooms, the Martha Anne Dow Center for Health Professions, the athletic facilities, and the Student Union and residence halls, the center of student life on campus. The tour includes all major sites on campus.

“The virtual tour is a great way to get familiar with Oregon Tech. The panoramic photos allow prospective students an opportunity to see labs and classrooms from all angles, take a peek at student life on campus from where they can grab a bite to eat, catch a Hustlin’ Owls basketball game, to places to study, and spots to enjoy the beauty of the campus and surrounding Southern Oregon landscape,” commented Bettina Burns, assistant director of admissions. “The technology is amazing as well as easy and fun to use.”
