Greg Gould, a Civil Engineering student at Oregon Institute of Technology, was recently selected as a recipient of the Simpson Strong-Tie Scholarship Award. This is the first year that OIT students have been eligible to compete in this scholarship program as it's only open to selected schools.

Applicants to the Structural Engineering/Architecture Student Scholarship Program must be enrolled as juniors (60 semester hours or equivalent) or seniors in a full-time undergraduate course of study in architecture or structural engineering at specified colleges.

Gould was selected on the basis of his academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, a statement of educational and career goals, and an outside appraisal. Financial need as calculated by Scholarship Management Services must be demonstrated for the student to receive an award.

"I feel grateful and honored to represent the Simpson Strong-Tie Scholarship program and the Oregon Institute of Technology by being a recipient of this prestigious award." – Greg Gould
