A new student trustee joined the Board of Trustees of Oregon Institute of Technology in Sept. Keegan Dentinger, a current Oregon Tech student, was nominated by Governor Tina Kotek and confirmed by the Oregon Senate on Sept. 24, 2024.
Dentinger is in the OHSU Nursing program at Oregon Tech's Klamath Falls campus and anticipates graduating in June 2026. Originally from Klamath Falls, Dentinger attended Henley High School, then enlisted in the Oregon Air National Guard and spent a year in military training before joining Oregon Tech in the Fall of 2021.
“My entire time at Oregon Tech I have been completely invested in the success of not only our university but in the success of our students as well,” Dentinger said. “I became an Admissions Ambassador as a freshman, and having worked in that office for the last three years I fell in love with Oregon Tech and with our students. The longer I am at this university, the more I look for ways to improve the university for the students, faculty, and staff. I think with the relationships I have built and the pride I have for this university, we can make Oregon Tech a better place, care for the people who have helped me grow personally and professionally, and continue to welcome the largest freshman class we have seen in decades.”
Dentinger joins fellow student trustee Aaron Hill on the Board.
The 15-member board comprises 11 at-large members, each appointed to serve a 4-year term; the University President, who is a non-voting, ex-officio member; and the faculty, staff, and student members, each appointed to a 2-year term.
