September 22, 2010, Klamath Falls, Oregon –   Fall is in the air. Trees are turning colors, the temperatures are cooler and college students are returning to campuses. As classes commence at Oregon Institute of Technology and at Klamath Community College on Monday, September 27th, the City of Klamath Falls has proclaimed the week of September 26 – October 2, 2010 as “Week of the College Student.”

The proclamation for “Week of the College Student” was read aloud by Klamath Falls Mayor, Todd Kellstrom, on Monday, September 20, 2010 at the Klamath Falls City Council meeting. Kellstrom invited students in attendance from both institutions to come forward as he read the proclamation. Each institution was presented a certificate by the mayor.

“Week of the College Student” was also recognized at the Regular Meeting of the Klamath County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday, September 21, 2010.  Councilwoman Cheryl Hukill and councilmen Al Switzer and John Elliott congratulated the students on their achievements and extended their appreciation to the students for their service-minded citizenship, making Klamath Falls a richer, more diverse community.

This is the third year for “Week of the College Student” in Klamath Falls.
