We don’t often get the chance to pause and share with students while our projects are still under construction, but Oregon Tech’s commitment to hands-on learning makes this one especially exciting! The construction of a 85,000 SF new mass timber residence hall on their Klamath Falls campus seems like the perfect opportunity. Next week, mahlumarch, bci.us, zcs_ea, pinnacle.architecture, and PAE will host Mass Timber Days – a two-day event that will give Oregon_Tech students an inside look at this innovative project. As one of the first residence halls in Oregon to feature mass timber floors, roofs, and panelized wood frame walls, this building stands as a landmark example of carbon-efficient construction in higher education. As Oregon Tech President Dr. Nagi Naganathan put it, “This new residence hall demonstrates how Oregon Tech continues to lead in sustainability and innovation while addressing the needs of our growing student community.” To the students joining us next week—get ready for hands-on training with our architecture and construction management team at the site! We can’t wait to share this experience with you. #MassTimber #HandsOnLearning #SustainableDesign #OregonTech
