To celebrate #OregonTech75 we are continuing our “Then and Now” series, showcasing life at Oregon Tech through all of its different identities and unbelievable moments.
1951 is the earliest our yearbooks date back to. Here you can see students of “Oregon Vocational School” outside of the original Cornett Hall’s Diesel Lab, at the old campus on Old Fort Road, the site of a former WWII Marine corps barracks used to treat Marines who contracted tropical diseases.
The building was completely rebuilt several times, once for relocation to Campus Drive in 1964 and recently remodeled in 2018 (via BBT Architects website).
Cornett Hall is now home to our racing teams, robotics club, maker space dedicated to senior projects, welding lab, prototyping lab, renewable energy, manufacturing and mechanical engineering, and everything civil engineering.
Personally, we love playing the pool tables before labs and staring at the Volkswagen Beetle on display.
