Baelie Werner, a Civil Engineering student at Oregon Tech, has been selected as the recipient of the Susan M. Frey Memorial Scholarship, a scholarship awarded to one outstanding student in Oregon who exemplifies a dedication to structural engineering, with an emphasis on teaching and mentoring. Originally from Tillamook, Werner is on track to graduate in 2023 with a bachelor's and master's degree in Civil Engineering. Over the summer, Werner interned with DOWL, LLC, a company specializing in planning, surveying, engineering (transportation, civil, structural, water resources, and geotechnical), and environmental and other support services. “I have always been fascinated by bridges, and my internship experience further confirmed my desire to pursue a career in the field of bridge engineering,” Werner said. “I have already accepted a full-time job offer to return as a Bridge Designer after I graduate!”
