Kerry Farris

Kerry is an instructor in the Environmental Sciences program and a research scientist at Oregon Tech’s AIRE Center. She earned a B.S. and M.S. in wildlife ecology from the University of Idaho, where she specialized in habitat selection and quantitative methods. Kerry has worked for both government and non-profit organizations as a wildlife biologist and as a research ecologist involved in forest and fire management. Much of her career has involved interdisciplinary research to understand the effects of forest and fuels management on wildlife populations. Since arriving at Oregon Tech in 2018, Kerry has attempted to draw from her applied professional experiences to teach courses that integrate theory and application and include subjects such as ecology, data analysis, mammalogy, environmental science, and biology. Her research interests are varied, but primarily examine the effects of disturbance and vegetation management on wildlife.
