A new ranking from Business Insider places Oregon Institute of Technology alumni at #9 of the highest earning graduates in the nation.

Garrett Oman, senior in Civil Engineering at Oregon Institute of Technology, “Oregon Tech,” has been selected as recipient of the APWA Civil Engineering Scholarship from the Oregon American Public Works Association (APWA) Scholastic Foundation.

Anna Sheadel, senior in Civil Engineering at Oregon Institute of Technology, “Oregon Tech,” has been selected as recipient of the APWA-Asphalt Pavement Association of Oregon Scholarship from the Oregon American Public Works Association (APWA) Scholastic Foundation.

Oregon Tech’s TRIO Student Support Services has been awarded $1.47 million in competitive grant funding through the U.S. Department of Education. The goal of the program is to increase the college retention and graduation rates of its participants, who include students from low-income families, first-generation students, and students with disabilities. Beginning in September of this year, Oregon Tech will receive $294,380 annually for the next five years to fund the TRIO program.

Base to Bachelor’s is a partnership between KCC and Oregon Tech that is designed to promote college access, affordability, and bachelor’s degree completion for Community College of the Air Force air personnel, military-affiliated and veteran students.

Beginning July 31, Marc Campolo, Ph.D., is joining Oregon Tech/OHSU as director of the upcoming Doctor of Physical Therapy program, which is the first doctoral degree for Oregon Tech.

The Oregon Institute of Technology Board of Trustees met on July 24, both remotely and with some of the members in-person at the university’s Klamath Falls campus, with the primary focus to review the university’s re-opening plans for fall 2020.

At Oregon Institute of Technology (Oregon Tech), the Student Veteran Program (SVP) continues to act on this by recently providing aid to veterans in Klamath County through their new program called “Vets Helping Vets.”

Pursuing engineering degrees at Oregon Tech, Rowan Parker and Rianna Delgado have received scholarships to attend the Grace Hopper Celebration, which brings the research and career interests of women in computing to the forefront. Parker and Delgado are both studying Software Engineering Technology.

Krista Beaty, assistant professor of Dental Hygiene at Oregon Institute of Technology (Oregon Tech), has been selected as recipient of the Sigma Phi Alpha Excellence in Journalism award, a national recognition from the Sigma Phi Alpha Dental Hygiene Honor Society and supported by Johnson & Johnson©
