Pathway to Licensure

Oregon Tech/OHSU's Medical Lab Science program graduates are eligible to take the Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) examination through the American Society for Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or the American Medical Technologists (AMT).  Our online degree requires all applicants hold the Medical Laboratory Technician certification through the ASCP or AMT prior to program acceptance.

As part of an an ongoing project, we are researching each state's licensure requirements. If you do not see your state's license information yet, please check that licensing board for more information. Official state websites should always be used as the primary source of information when reviewing license requirements.

This page only references eligibility for the online MLT to MLS degree completion program and is not relevant for the campus-based program.
