Scholarships for OIT Students

Below is a listing of scholarhips opportunities for new or current OIT students.  The scholarships are listed by due date order.  Please feel free to contact the OIT Financial Aid Office if you have any questions about the scholarships.

 

James Bocchi Memorial Scholarship for Healthcare Education

Due Date: November 30, 2009

Scholarship Amount: Varies

Eligibility: Students enrolled in a full-time program leading to a career in the healthcare field. First consideration will be given to students enrolled in nursing programs. Priority will also be given to individuals who have attended a Klamath County or Klamath Basin high school, public or private, but is not limited to such students. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 or equivalent.

Sky Lakes Cancer Advisory Committee Scholarship

Due Date: November 30, 2009

Scholarship Amount: Varies

Eligibility: Available to any graduate of a Klamath County or Klamath Basin high school who has completed a four-year course in any public or private school within the County or Basin or who has been an employee of Sky Lakes Medical Center for a minimum of three years. The award is restricted to students enrolled in a health occupation program. Priority will be given to students pursuing a program with an emphasis in oncology or related area, but all students heading toward a health career are encouraged to apply. Only applicants with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 or equivalent will be considered.

Holman Scholarship

Due Date: November 30, 2009

Scholarship Amount: Varies

Eligibility: OIT Student athletes enrolled in any health occupation program at Oregon Institute of Technology

Soroptimist International of Klamath Falls Scholarship

Due Date: December 15, 2009

Scholarship Amount: $750-$1,000

Eligibility: Woman attending college who is the primary financial responsible person for the family, have financial need, be motivated to achieve your educational and career goals

Critical Language Scholarship Program

Due Date: December 18, 2009

Scholarship Amount: unknown

Eligibility: US Citizen currently enrolled in a U.S. degree granting program, must have completed at least one year of general college course-work, be in acceptable mental and physical health, must be at least 18 years old

Boren Fellowships

Due Date: January 28, 2010

Fellowship Amount: $12,000 up to $30,000

Eligibility: Any US Citizen enrolled as an undergraduate, in an accredited US institution

Pride Foundation Scholarship

Due Date: January 31, 2010

Scholarship Amount: up to $10,000

Eligibility: Resident of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, or Alaska, preference to self-identified LGBTQ, members of LGBTQ families, or straight-allies who have been strongly supportive of the LGBTQ community, must emphasize human and civil rights for all people.

AARP Foundation Women's Scholarship Program

Due Date: February 1, 2010

Scholarship Amount: Varies

Eligibility: Woman who is over the age of 40 by March 31, 2010, able to demonstrate financial need, be enrolled in an accredited school or technical program

Maxine Williams Scholarship

Due Date: February 15, 2010 (receipt date)

Scholarship Amount: $500-$1,000

Eligibility: Students enrolled in and having completed a minimum of one quarter or semester at a postsecondary medical assisting program accredited by the CAAHEP, have a GPA of 3.0 or higher

OSCPA Educational Foundation Scholarship

Due Date: February 17, 2010

Scholarship Amount: $1,000-$3,000

Eligibility: Oregon college and high students interested in pursuing a career in accounting

Margaret McNamara Memorial Fund Scholarship

Due Date: February 18, 2010

Scholarship Amount: $12,000

Eligibility: Female students from developing countries pursing a degree in the United States or Canada

AICPA/Accountemps Student Scholarship

Due Date: April 1, 2020 (postmarked)

Scholarship Amount: $2,500

Eligibility: Declared accounting, finance, or information systems major, full-time undergraduate student for the 2010-11 year, completed at least 30 semester hours of college coursework (including at least 6 semester hours in accounting), have maintained an overall GPA and major GPA of at least 3.0, U.S. Citizen or permanent resident, not presently a CPA, AICPA student affiliate member or recently submitted new member application

John L. Carey Scholarship

Due Date: April 1, 2010 (postmarked)

Scholarship Amount: $5,000

Eligibility: Student will have obtained a liberal arts or other non-business related undergraduate degree from a regionally accredited institution in the United States prior to enrolling in my graduate accounting program, student will not have earned more than 12 credits in accounting or business during undergraduate program, student will have been accepted into, or am in the process of applying to, a graduate program in accounting that is accredited by AACSB International or ACBSP, student intends to pursue a CPA certificate, student will be a full-time graduate (9 semester hours or equivalent) student for 2010-11,  student is a U.S. citizen or permanent resident

Degree Directory Scholarship

Due Date: April 1, 2010

Scholarship Amount: $1,000

Eligibility: full-time student pursuing a business related degree, selection is based on academic history, extracurricular activities, and employment history

Abbott and Fenner Scholarship

Due Date: June 19, 2010

Scholarship Amount: up to $1,000

Eligibility: High school junior or seniors and students attending a post-secondary institution

BigSun Scholarship

Due Date: June 14, 2010

Scholarship Amount: $500

Eligibility: The successful applicant will be a high school senior or be attending a post secondary institute and currently involved in some sport at that institution.
