How to Drop a Course
You may drop or withdraw from a class three ways:
- Access Web for Student through the first Friday of the term and drop yourself from the class,
- Email firstname.lastname@example.org from your Oregon Tech email account and provide your name, 918#, and the class you want to drop,
- Fax a signed request to the Oregon Tech Online office at 541.885.1139.
For faxed or emailed requests, please check your email account, including your junk folder, for a confirmation of your dropped class. When dropping a class in Web for Student, be sure to verify the term designated in the top left of your screen to ensure you are in the correct term.
Never assume that you will automatically be dropped from a class for any reason. You are responsible for dropping a class you no longer wish to attend.
Classes dropped before 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time on the twelfth calendar day (second Friday) of each term will be dropped without record. Requests received after that day will reflect a 'W' on your transcript. A 'W' does not affect your GPA but may impact any Federal financial aid you are receiving. You can view the drop deadlines for each term. Please note the drop and refund schedules for Summer term differ from the rest of the academic year.
Once you are registered in courses, you are fully responsible for the tuition and fees. To receive a 100% refund, you must drop your courses before the fifth calendar day of the term (Friday) at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time. After Friday at 5:00 p.m. you will receive a partial refund according to the Oregon Tech refund schedule. For more information, view Refund Policies and Deadlines.
