From the Director

Welcome to the Oregon Tech Environmental Sciences webpage and thanks for choosing to take a look at our unique program. Our curriculum emphasizes three fundamental principles that set it apart from most other undergraduate programs in environmental sciences: hands-on learning, in-depth understanding of scientific reasoning and methodology, and development of student research projects that address real-world problems in environmental sciences and natural resource management. Due to our low student-to-faculty ratio, emphasis on achievements in student research, remarkable field settings, and established connections with environmental professionals across the region, our graduates enjoy very high placement rates with government agencies, private firms, and non-governmental organizations...

If you are searching for an engaging, meaningful, challenging, and rewarding program in environmental sciences, if you are curious about how the world works to provide life-sustaining ecological services, if you are driven by the desire to better situate human communities within natural ecosystems, if you are self-motivated to develop the skills needed to succeed in today's natural resources workforce, or if you seek a higher level of preparation for graduate school, then consider taking a closer look at our program. It may be the first step toward a whole new outlook for your career and a new view of the world around you...

If you have any questions about Oregon Tech or the Environmental Sciences Program, please contact me. I love to meet new prospective students! I equally welcome questions, ideas, or suggestions from community members, educators, environmental professionals, or anyone interested in collaborating to make contributions in environmental sciences, so please do not hesitate to let me know who you are and what you want to achieve in partnership with our program. I will always do my best to help you in any way I can!
