International
Welcome
Oregon Institute of Technoloy is licensed to admit international students who hold an F-1 Student Visa.
OIT welcomes freshmen and transfer international students to its main campus in Klamath Falls, Oregon.
We also admit transfer international students to OIT Portland where programs are designed primarily for students who have already completed the required lower-division coursework.
International students of OIT who plan to concurrently enroll in other schools should review the terms for concurrent enrollment.

To Begin the Admission Process
To Complete Your International Application File
After your application and application fee are received, your file will be managed until it is complete by Deanne Pandozzi, the Designated School Official for SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System). The following original documents (or certified copies) must be received to complete your application file and in order for OIT to issue an INS Form I-20:
Financial Documentation
Bank statements, tax returns or government sponsorship to verify funding available for the first year of college and the likelihood of funding for completing a degree at OIT (as required by the US Immigration and Citizenship Services).
The cost of attendance for an international student is generally calculated as the sum of tuition and fees for 15 credits, on-campus room and board, books and personal expenses ($28,042 for 2008-2009).
Transcripts
- OIT requires academic transcripts of high school and/or university course work to be translated by a transcript evaluation service. Note that some countries refer to transcripts as mark sheets or grade reports. Transcript evaluations must be mailed directly to OIT by the service. If the transcript is not in English, it is the student's responsibility to secure a certified translation. Results of transcript evaluations in combination with other requirements determine admissibility to OIT.
- There are multiple transcript evaluation services that are acceptable:
English Language Proficiency
Admission of International Students
After an international application file is completed, it is reviewed by Admissions staff to determine whether the student meets OIT admissions requirements. OIT will notify applicants of a decision by mail. Students who receive a letter offering admission will also receive the I-20 by mail.
