Web: http://www.mateoaboy.com/ Dr. Mateo Aboy joined the faculty at the Oregon Institute of Technology (OIT) during the 2004/05 academic year as a tenure-track professor in the Electrical Engineering department. He is currently a tenured Professor, Department Chair of Electrical Engineering, and serves as the Program Director of EET/EE at the Portland Campus. He also holds joint appointments at OHSU where he teaches in the Doctoral program in Biomedical Engineering (School of Medicine) and in the Doctoral Program in DSP at University of Vigo (Spain). His education background includes a BS in Physics with a Minor in Mathematics; BS and MS degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering; Ing and DEA degrees in Telecommunications Engineering; and a PhD in Electrical Engineering (PSU, MEC, U.Vigo). He completed the Executive Certificate Program in Management and Leadership (Technical Management) at MIT (Sloan), graduate coursework in IP Law at UC-Berkeley, and is currently pursuing a MBA in International Management from the University of London.
Dr. Aboy has published over 85 journal and proceedings articles, including 13 papers published in IEEE Transactions in Biomedical Engineering. He serves as an Associate Editor for the IEEE RITA journal (IEEE Education Society), Associate Editor of IEEE-EMBC, and has served as the President/Chair of the IEEE Education Society (OR). He was elected to full membership of The Scientific Research Society and serves as a Reviewer for 8 scientific journals. Over the last two years, he filed over 15 patents as an inventor.
Dr. Aboy is a Licensed Registered Patent Agent. He has a Bar Admission to practice Patent Law before the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) and before the Board of Appeal & Interferences of the USPTO. He is NAPP Certified (National Association of Patent Practitioners). He currently serves as the Senior Managing Partner & Patent Agent of ABOY&ASSOCIATES, PC (www.aboypatentlaw.com).
Dr. Aboy teaches Digital Signal Processing, Statistical Signal Processing, Biomedical Signal Processing, Signals & Systems, Introduction to Semiconductors and Amplifiers, Transistor Amplifiers, and Operational Amplifiers.

Dr. Robert Bass is an Assistant Professor and the Program Director of the Renewable Energy Engineering Program at the Oregon Institute of Technology in Portland, Oregon. Dr. Bass joined the full-time faculty in September of 2005. Prior to his appointment at OIT, Dr. Bass was an Adjunct Professor of Physics at the University of Portland and an Adjunct Professor of Electronics Engineering Technology at OIT Portland.
Dr. Bass received his Doctorate in Electrical Engineering from the University of Virginia in 2004 under the direction of Dr. Arthur Lichtenberger. His dissertation research centered on submillimeter-wave circuit design and unique fabrication technologies for superconducting terahertz heterodyne receivers. After receiving his Masters in Electrical Engineering in 2000, he joined an internet start-up firm in San Francisco as the lead software and database engineer. He then worked at the Biomechanical Impact Lab with the University of Virginias Mechanical Engineering Department. Dr. Bass received the Wilson Award for outstanding graduate teaching in 2004, and was the winner of the Virginia Engineering Foundations Optical Device Design award in 1999.
Dr. Bass teaches courses in renewable energy and electronics engineering technology at the Metro Campus of OIT Portland. He specializes in teaching courses in Renewable Energy Engineering, Fuel Cells, Power Electronics, Photovoltaics, Communication Systems, Semiconductor Devices, Microwave Circuits and Analog IC Design

Lita is the Director of OIT’s Portland Campus. She is responsible for management, policy, marketing and strategic partnerships in Portland and for raising awareness of OIT’s programs and services in Portland and Klamath Falls. Lita is a member of OIT’s Executive, Marketing and Strategic Enrollment Management Teams.
Lita came to OIT after serving over four years as Governor Kulongoski’s Workforce Policy Advisor. Prior to working in Salem, she was an Economic Development Manager at the Portland Development Commission and has worked for over 30 years to expand career and technical workforce and education programs to address demands in the labor market. Cristina Crespo joined the full-time faculty of OIT-Portland during the 2008/9 academic year as an Assistant Professor in the Electrical Engineering and Renewable Energy Department. She currently teaches EE, EET, and REE courses at the OIT-Portland campus and serves as Program Director for the Electronics Engineering Technology Program. Prior to this appointment, she worked as an Adjunct Professor at OIT-Portland. She spent five years as an Electrical Engineer at Maxim Integrated Products, Inc. Her industry experience includes the design and implementation of hardware and software solutions for the test, characterization, and reliability studies of analog/mixed signal integrated circuits, as well as statistical process control.
Cristina holds a BS degree in Physics with a Minor in Mathematics, a BS degree in Electrical Engineering, a MS degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering (PSU), and a Graduate Certificate in Signal Processing (U.Vigo). She is currently completing her PhD in Electrical Engineering. Her dissertation is in the area of Signal Processing.
Cristina teaches electronics courses in the Electrical Engineering and Renewable Energy Department (Introduction to Renewable Energy, Electric Circuits, Amplifiers and Semiconductors, Transistor Amplifiers, Operational Amplifiers, Analog IC Design, CMOS Digital IC Design). She also teaches the General Physics sequence at OIT-Portland.
Her current research interests include the development of signal processing methods for diverse applications such as monitoring and characterization of power quality and DSP algorithms for Smart-Grid related solutions.

Carleen came to OIT Portland in the Fall of 2007 after finishing a Master’s degree in Speech Communication and Adult Education from Oregon State University. Currently, Carleen is responsible for OIT outreach coordination in the Metro area, emphasizing student recruitment from community college, industry, and high school.

Kathy run the daily operations of the East campus. She coordinates all student files for the Portland Area with Admissions and oversees recruitment and student management software and activities.
Kathy has worked at OIT for thirteen years. The first seven years were at the main campus in Klamath Falls. Kathy worked in Extended Studies and helped coordinate Summer session, High School to College programs, Japanese Student Visitors Program, Distance Ed courses and the one time only OIT Cruise. Kathy had a short experience in the Admissions Office and later moved to the Provost's office for two years. She moved to the OIT Portland campus in 2003.

Grant is a 1987 Computer Science graduate of Oregon Institute of Technology, worked in the high-tech industry for 16 years before returning to OIT/Portland as the IT Program Director. His industry career included stints as a network engineer and technical marketing engineer at Intel, and product marketing for home networking, DSL and broadband. He holds an MBA from the University of Oregon.

Dr. Michael Kirshner has over 30 years of health care and information systems experience. Michael founded and became president of Health Select, a health communications company that developed computer aided information and decision support systems. Michael was awarded a post-doctoral research fellowship at the Kaiser Permanente Center for Health Research, where he conducted and published health services and medical informatics research. Previously, Dr. Kirshner was the Assistant Director of Medical Informatics for Kaiser Permanente Northwest.
Dr. Kirshner holds a doctoral degree in Dental Surgery from the University of Southern California, a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Washington, and a graduate certificate in Medical Informatics from Oregon Health and Science University.

Dawn joined OIT in February 2008. Her education includes a MLIS from Louisiana State University, and a BA in Creative Writing from Linfield College. Previously Dawn has working in the libraries at Florida State University and Louisiana State University. She has a number of articles and presentations centering on leadership in libraries. Dawn is also a co-author of A Leadership Primer for New Librarians: Tools for Helping Today's Early-career Librarians Become Tomorrow's Library Leaders, due out in 2008.

Dr. Peter is a registered professional engineer (PE) in the States of Washington and Oregon and a registered European engineer (Eur Ing) in Europe. He has extensive consulting experience in the areas of mechanical and manufacturing engineering, metallurgy, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and HVAC. He also has considerable industrial experience, both in the United States and in the United Kingdom. His research areas include thermal fluid sciences, CFD, nuclear shielding, nuclear criticality, and thermal hydraulics. His recent employment includes the Department of Energy Site at Hanford in Washington State, at Tektronix in Oregon, and ASML Lithography at Wilton in Connecticut. Dr. Peter has taught classes at both public and private universities and at a community college.
Dr. Peter has a PhD in Material Science and Engineering, M.S. degree in Nuclear Engineering, M.Sc degree in Nuclear Reactor Science and B.S. (Honors) degree in Mechanical Engineering. He received the Institution of Mechanical Engineers Project Prize for 1979 in the United Kingdom. Dr. Peter has a US and International Patent in the semiconductor area.

Lawrence Wolf received his B.S. and M.S. in mechanical engineering and his DSc in structural engineering from Washington University in St. Louis. He maintains PE licenses in Oregon and Missouri and is a member of the ASME and of the SME. He is an elected fellow of the ASEE, ASME, and ABET. From the ASEE he has received the McGraw Award, a Centennial Award, and the Distinguished Service Award. He is a member of Sigma Xi, Pi Tau Sigma, Tau Alpha Pi, Epsilon Pi Tau, and the AAUP. In 06 he was named a life member of the ASEE. In 07 he was elected a life fellow of the ASME, and received an EngineeringVISION Award from Engineering.com.
He has over 60 publications the most recent being as a contributing author and steering committee member for the newly released ABET 75th Anniversary Retrospective. ISBN 978-0-9799910-0-4.
Wolf currently serves on the Mechanical Engineering Body of Knowledge Study Committee of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. He also serves on the Manufacturing Engineering Leadership Forum of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers.
