Nationwide, the field of sleep health is growing rapidly. This includes technologists working directly in sleep labs as well as other health professionals working with sleep patients in dental offices, hospitals, general practice clinics, and various other locations. With communities recognizing sleep disorders as a public health issue, the need for sleep health education is on the rise.
Oregon Tech is an academic leader in this field. We offer programs to help students achieve (or advance) a career in the field of sleep. Programs include (click any title for more information):
For students with an approved health care credential, this certificate provides opportunity for career expansion. Graduates are eligible to sit for the CCSH board exam.*
Coursework in this certificate is appropriate for health professionals seeking new career opportunities as well as students new to the health industry. Graduates are eligible to sit for the RPSGT board exam.
This degree is available to students in the above-mentioned certificate programs. It is also available to current RPSGT’s, and it transfers easily into the Bachelor of Science in Health Care Management (below).
While this degree isn’t specifically related to sleep, it provides a path to career advancement and higher education. The degree is available to students who hold an approved health credential. RPSGT and CCSH are both approved credentials for entry to this degree program.
* Applicants for the CCSH exam must hold an associate (or higher) degree. Students who do not have a degree prior to enrolling at Oregon Tech should earn the Sleep Health AAS in order to sit for the CCSH exam.
