The Department of Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering and Technology (MMET) at Oregon Institute of Technology (Oregon Tech) seeks applications for a full-time, 12 month, tenure track position for the Oregon Tech Seattle operations. Applicants must have a strong commitment to high quality undergraduate and graduate engineering education and a strong desire to help grow and develop our ongoing educational collaboration with The Boeing Company. The appointment will be at the assistant or associate professor level. The department offers BSME (EAC-ABET accredited), BSMET, BSMFG (both ABET accredited) and MSMFG degrees. The Oregon Tech Seattle program has a fully-equipped engineering laboratory located in Everett, WA and is well known for providing a hands-on-applied engineering education.
The position is focused on undergraduate and graduate teaching. This position has responsibilities for development and teaching in the area of Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering with emphasis in the Thermal Sciences (thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, combustion). The position also requires a familiarity with performing engineering laboratory exercises in the aforementioned areas and other areas of mechanical/manufacturing engineering. The successful applicant needs to be able to teach masters-level courses in both manufacturing and mechanical engineering.

Master’s Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or a closely related field, with a demonstrated expertise in the Thermal Sciences, and a minimum of three years relevant industrial experience.
Applicants are expected to demonstrate a commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
An earned Doctorate in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or closely related field, demonstrated excellence in teaching, and/or professional registration. Demonstrated expertise in the Thermal Sciences, as well as in applied research.
