KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – After the pair earned Cascade Conference and NFCA All-Region honors, both Cassidy Olson (Anderson, Calif.) and Tori Weatherford (Mt. Shasta, Calif.) were chosen to the NFCA All-America squad, announced today by head softball coach Greg Stewart.
Olson, a utility player for the Owls, was a NFCA First-Team All-America selection with Weatherford earning Second-Team All-America honors as a catcher.
Olson led the Owls with a .408 batting average, including a team-high tying 10 homeruns. Olson, a senior, was also a first team all-CCC player and NFCA All-Region member.
Weatherford, a first team all-CCC and NFCA All-Region selection, batted .348 for Tech with a team leading 55 RBI while tying the team-high mark of 10 homeruns during her junior year.
Oregon Tech wrapped up the 2014 campaign with a 35-14 overall mark, including a 23-5 record in CCC play to earn the regular-season CCC championship. The Owls would move on to the NAIA National Softball Championship for the third time in four seasons where Tech was ranked No. 18 in the season-ending edition of the Top 25 NAIA Coaches’ Poll.
