Seven Owls Earn All-Conference Soccer Postseason Honors

La GRANDE, Ore.– Seven Oregon Tech athletes earned postseason honors, led by four from the women’s soccer team and three on the men’s soccer side, the league office announced.

First-team all-conference honors went to Rebekah Matteri (Arcata, Calif.) and Rebekah Nisbet (Medford, Ore.), while sophomore defender Bailey Tehan (Eureka, Calif.) and freshman midfielder Jackie Gardner (Klamath Fall, Ore.) earned honorable mention accolades in women’s soccer.  Matteri and Nisbet received back-to-back first-team honors, while Tehan also earned HM accolades in back-to-back seasons. 

Matteri, a junior goal keeper, ranked 1st in the Cascade Collegiate Conference in saves and save percentage, while ranking 5th in shutouts.  Nisbet, a senior midfielder, led Tech in goals (8) and assists (5), while ranking 1st in the CCC in shots on goal (52) 3rd in goals and 9th in assists.   

Ashton Betts (Portland, Ore.), a forward on the men’s soccer squad, finished out the year second on the team in goals (3) and first in assists (4). Betts had 16 shots on goal for Tech and was the lone Owl earning second-team all-conference honors on the men’s team.   Senior Loren Jessen (Springfield, Ore.) and freshman Brady Ulen (Post Falls, Idaho) received honorable mention honors.
