SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — Oregon Tech’s Rebekah Nisbet scored her second goal of the season late in the second half, as the Hustlin’ Owls battled to a 1-1 tie with Midland University of Nebraska Saturday in a match played at Westminster College.
Nisbet scored from 20 yards out with just under 15 minutes remaining in regulation time, one of the 11 shots the Hustlin' Owls were able to put on goal against Midland's Megan Manley.
Tech, meanwhile, allowed the Warriors just six shots in the match, five on goal. Caitlin Cooney scored seven minutes into the match for the school formerly known as Midland Lutheran.
Oregon Tech had three shots on goal during the two 10-minute overtime periods, while the Warriors had just one.
The tie left the Hustlin' Owls with a 2-2-1 record, while Midland moved to 2-1-2.
Oregon Tech returns home and will host Linfield College at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, at Steen Sports Park.
