(La GRANDE, Ore.) – Oregon Tech’s Meghan Drost, a senior from Corvallis, Ore. has been named Red Lion Women’s Soccer-offensive Player of the Week for the period ending October 14.
Drost led the Oregon Tech offense to a 1-0-1 record on the week. Drost had a hand in all 4 of the team goals and a total of 6 points in the 2 games played. She also accrued 2 assists and 2 goals, one of which was the game winning goal against Northwest Christian University.
Oregon Tech sophomore Rebekah Matteri, received conference women’s soccer-defensive player of the week honorable mention accolades after her performance this past weekend. Matteri faced 52 total shots with 19 saves, many that would have certainly changed the outcome of both games. Two of those saves came at the end of the each game and where nearly identical in execution and game situation as Matteri perfectly timed her jumps to punch the ball over the crossbar in the final minutes preserving the win and the tie.
Oregon Tech senior Rey Chavolla, received conference men’s soccer-offensive player of the week honorable mention accolades after his performance this past weekend. Chavolla had his third and fourth goals of the year in leading Oregon Tech to its first win of the season, 2-0 over Northwest Christian University.
