(KLAMATH FALLS, Ore.) – In a battle of two of the top teams in the Cascade Conference, Oregon Tech and Corban University played to a 2-2 tie Saturday night in what was a lopsided game with the Warriors out shooting the Lady Owls 38-9 at Trevor Derrah Field.

Oregon Tech Goal Keeper Rebekah Matteri had 13 saves and several last second punch outs that helped preserve the 2-2 tie. Oregon Tech moves to 4-1-1 in CCC play and 6-4-1 on the season with Corban going to 3-2-1 in CCC play and 8-5-1 overall.

Rebekah Nisbet gave Tech an early 1-0 lead as she took a Meghan Drost pass and scored in the upper right from 18 yards away, just out of the reach of the Warriors keeper in the 4th minute.

Corban answered quickly as Audrey Sullivan scored from 25 yards out, taking control of a loose ball and scoring in the upper left of the OIT goal in the 10th minute.

Drost was at it again in the 19th minute as scored her 4th goal of the season off a Rylee Jones pass, scoring in the upper right of the goal from 30 yards out to give Tech the 2-1 lead.

Tech would head to the break leading on the scoreboard 2-1 but were out-shot 15-4 in the first half.

The Warriors offensive juggernaut continued pounding away in the second half, putting up 13 shots to only 3 from Oregon Tech.

Corban finally tied the game at 2, when Emily Tsugawa shot a bullet from 14 yards out; the ball was deflected by Matteri but crossed the line for the goal with just 9 minutes remaining in regulation.

In overtime, Corban had several good looks but stellar keeper play from Matteri kept the game at a 2-2 tie after 20 minutes of extra time.

Oregon Tech will next host Southern Oregon University next Sunday, October 21 at 3:00 pm at Steen Sports Park on Trevor Derrah Field.
