The Owls will look to Brittany Warren to lead the hitting barrage this season. The all-conference outfielder batted .373 with 12 doubles, 4 triples and 9 HR while driving in 47 runs for Tech in 2008.

The 2008 softball team recorded an overall record of 36-14 and 20-4 in conference play, bringing home the Cascade Collegiate Conference championship for the second time in three seasons. The Lady Owls started slow (0-4), but won their next 16 of 20 games to gain a No. 20 ranking during the year. Tech then strung together an amazing 16-game win streak, taking the CCC title and earning the right to host the Region I tournament as the tournaments #2 seed.  Tech went 1-1 in day one of Region I play, knocking out No.14 ranked Simon Fraser, but eventually falling on day two of the championship round.

Losing two veteran pitchers, Tech will look for veteran catcher Katie King to help solidify a new pitching staff for the Owls in 2009. The all-conference catcher drove in 36 runs while batting .363 with 11 doubles and 3 homeruns.

Jenni Bittle was named the Cascade Conference Player of the Year and was joined on the All-Cascade Conference team by Katie King, Sunceray Titus and Brittany Warren. Selected Honorable Mention was Keri Gesner, while Greg Stewart was named CCC Coach of the Year. Gold Glove winners went to Jenny Austin, Bess Fagan and Amber Sinicrope.  Bittle, King and Warren were All-Region I selections while Greg Stewart walked away with Region I Coach of the Year honors.  All-American Scholar Athlete awards went to Bittle and Gesner.

If Tech can replace All-American pitcher/utility Jenni Bittle and hurler Keri Gesner, look for the Owls to make another run at the CCC title. Head Coach Greg Stewart has pounded the pavement and brought in an outstanding group of talented players to begin the 2009 campaign.
