SALEM, Ore. – The Oregon Tech men’s soccer team was mathematically eliminated from a postseason berth falling to Corban Saturday at Warrior Field by a 1-0 final.
Oregon Tech dropped their sixth-straight and falls to 5-12-0 overall and 4-9-0 in the CCC standings.
Just over a minute into the second half, Corban got on the board with Arsinio Walker heading in a free kick in the 47th minute. After a foul by Oregon Tech along the far sideline that resulted in the game's first of three yellow cards, Kagey lofted a free kick into the box that Walker headed over the outstretched arm of Oregon's Tech goalkeeper for the eventual game-winner.
Oregon Tech's Loren Jessen tallied a game-high seven saves with the Owls' defense also keeping the Warriors from scoring in the first half following a save by a defender in the ninth minute.
Overall, Corban registered 19 more shots (24-to-5) than Oregon Tech with the Warriors putting six more shots on target thanks to an 8-to-2 difference. The two teams combined for 36 fouls, as Corban earned the game's only corner kicks with a 9-to-0 advantage.
Oregon Tech will wrap up the 2013 season on Saturday November 9th at Trevor Derrah Field at Steen Sports Park at 1:00 pm on senior day against Concordia University.
