KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - A 5-4 Holy Names advantage just three minutes into the opening period would be the only lead the Hawks would see, as No. 2 Oregon Tech rolled to a 23 point halftime lead on the way to an 80-51 victory in the final game of the Midland Empire Insurance Classic tonight at Danny Miles Court.

Oregon Tech moves to 6-1 on the season, while Holy Names University is off to a 0-2 start.
Oregon Tech’s Mihajlo Matic knocked down a game-high 18 points with Josh Wiseman adding 16 in the win for the Owls. Josh Johnson recorded 13 points with Matic and Alex Zerbach grabbing 7 boards each.
Erik Fearn led HNU with 14 points with Tyler Fry coming away with 12 in the loss for the Hawks. Josh Kasin and Josh Crum combined for 15 points with Kasin and Adam Smith grabbing a team-high 5 rebounds.
Oregon Tech finished the night 31-63 from the floor (49.2%) while holding Holy Names to 33.3% shooting (20-60). The Owls held a 44-34 advantage on the boards and finished with 23 assists with just 12 turnovers.
All-Tournament selection went to Eric Thompson (SOU), David Durnar (SOU), Tyler Fry (HNU), Mihajlo Matic (OIT), David Clarke (OIT), Josh Johnson (OIT), while Tournament MVP honors went to Josh Wiseman.
Oregon Tech next travels to Ashland to take on Southern Oregon University in a non-conference game this Tuesday beginning at 7:30 PM.
