Oregon Tech Soccer Adds Idaho Duo

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Women’s soccer Coach Mike Hedlund announced the recent addition of Alyssa Stewart (Eagle, Idaho) and Ashlei Morgan (Meridian, Idaho) to the 2014 Oregon Tech roster.

Stewart, a 5-5 midfielder, led Bishop Kelly High School to the Idaho 4A State Championships on three occasions, while earning first team all-conference honors for the Knights.

“Alyssa is a proven winner as evidenced by her multiple championships,” stated Hedlund. “She is good with the ball, sees the field well and doesn’t shy away from contact. She is versatile enough to help us right away in a couple of positions.”

Alyssa is the daughter of Justin (a Klamath Union High School graduate) and Kristy Stewart and plans to major in medical imaging at Oregon Tech beginning this fall.

Morgan, a 4-11 forward at Meridian High School, recorded four goals and six assist during the 2013 season for the Warriors, while leading her FC Nova club team to the 2012 Idaho State Cup Championship.

“While small, Ashlei plays big and fast and is tenacious on the field,” said Hedlund. “Her work rate and understanding of the game will make her a great addition to our team.”

Ashlei is the daughter of Scott and Jodi Morgan and will study renewable energy beginning this fall at Oregon Tech.
