Oregon Tech Golf Inks SWOCC Transfer

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Oregon Tech golf coach Jeff Corkill announced recently that Tyler James Swinton (Haines, Alaska) will join the men’s program beginning this fall.

Swinton currently competes at Southwestern Oregon Community College in Coos Bay where he helped the Lakers to a NWAACC championship in 2013.  As a freshman at SWOCC, Swinton was named Most Improved Player, where as a freshman averaged a score of 78.  During the NWACC championship Swinton carded rounds of 73 and a low round of 72 at the Bandon Dues Invitational.

“Tyler makes a great addition to our roster next year as he played on a championship team last season at Southwestern,” mentioned Corkill. “He brings with him a solid golf game and the experience to serve as a leader for the Owls the next 2 years.”

Tyler is the son of Ralph and Sarah Swinton and will major in accounting at Oregon Tech beginning this fall.
