Oregon Tech Baseball Signs Local Standout

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - Head Coach Matt Miles announced that local Henley High School three sport standout, Josh Overstreet, has signed a letter-of-intent to play for the Owls beginning this fall. Josh has earned 11 varsity letters while competing in football, basketball and baseball at HHS. A member of the 2013 Henley High state championship baseball team, he was named MVP of the 4A title game in which he tallied 6 RBI and 4 hits, including a homerun and double.

“Josh is a top recruit with great potential to be an immediate impact offensive player,” commented Miles, “He will also see significant innings on the mound as he will have the opportunity to be a dual player for us.”

Josh, under the outstanding tutelage of head Henley High coach Tim Cleland, has received several All-Conference accolades, including first team infielder as a junior and third team All-State. He is looking to help lead his team to another run at the state title this spring before joining the Owls next fall.

As a 4-year letter-winner in football, Overstreet was a two way starter at quarterback and linebacker, positions he received All-Skyline honors. Josh was also named 2nd team All-State at linebacker his senior season while leading his squad to the 4A quarterfinals.

Josh also excels in the classroom as he has been a member of the National Honors Society and has earned academic all-league honors for every season in which he lettered through his high school career. Overstreet will graduate this spring with an honors diploma.

“We couldn’t be more excited to keep a local athlete of Josh’s caliber in the basin, and give his family and the Klamath Falls baseball community a chance to watch his continued development.”

Josh is the son of Mike and Carisa and is planning on majoring in business while at Oregon Tech.
