PORTLAND, Ore. – Oregon Tech finished Cascade Conference regular season action with a 71-38 rout over Warner Pacific College tonight at C.C Perry Gymnasium in Portland. Oregon Tech secured the No. 2 seed in the upcoming CCC women’s basketball tournament and will take a 25-5 overall mark up against Corban University this Tuesday at Danny Miles Court. The Owls finished CCC play with a 13-5 record.
Oregon Tech raced out to an 11-0 lead, later moving up by as many as 22 points, 33-15, before settling for a 37-16 advantage at the half.
The Owls held on to a 20+ point lead throughout the first 12 minutes of the second period, before WPC cut their deficit to 19 points, 55-36, with 6:28 remaining. It was as close as the Knights could get as the Owls methodically pulled away to win by their largest margin of 33 in the game at 71-38.
Oregon Tech held the Knights to just 22.0% from the floor (11-for-50) while connecting on 27-of-61 tries (44.3%). Tech would hit six from beyond the 3-point line and held a slim 41-38 advantage on the boards.
Tess Armstrong scored a game-high 15 points, followed by Kassi Conditt with 14 points. Conditt added a team-high eight rebounds to go with five assists and two block shots. Karissa Dixon chipped in 10 points while adding five rebounds, four assists, a block and a steal. Maria Ramirez grabbed seven rebounds with Ashleigh Vandenbrink adding seven points. Karly LeVeque notched six points and added five assists and four steals in the win.
