HAYWARD, Calif. – Oregon Tech fell to 3-5 on the season after dropping a doubleheader at NCAA II Holy Names University today at Pioneer Field on the campus of Cal State East Bay, 12-4, 4-2.
Game 1- Aaron Bocchi finished 3-for-4 with a double, while Cameron Cole recorded two hits in the opener and Ethan Schlecht doubled and drove in two runs in the loss. Austin Taylor pitched five inning allowing just four hits and two earned runs receiving the loss and moving to 2-2 on the year.
Oregon Tech scored three runs in the fourth inning to take a 3-2 lead. Holy Names, however, would push across eight runs in the fifth inning and the Owls never recovered.
Game 2 – Oregon Tech tied the nightcap at 1-1, but Holy Names added a pair of runs in the fifth which proved to be the game winner, as Tech fell by a 4-2 final.
Chase Meister took the loss giving six hits and three earned runs in five innings. Meister struck out three and walked five. Oregon Tech would gather five hits in the nightcap, all singles.
Oregon Tech and HNU meet again Sunday with a doubleheader beginning at 11 a.m. in Hayward.
