CALDWELL, Idaho - Oregon Tech held a four point lead, 57-53, late in the second half only to see the Yotes go on a 13-2 run to take the lead for good, as the fourteenth-ranked Owls fell to College of Idaho by a 73-65 final tonight at the J.A. Albertson Center in Caldwell.
Oregon Tech falls to 14-1 overall and 2-1 in Cascade Conference play. College of Idaho improves to 5-6 on the season and 2-1 in the conference standings.
Oregon Tech, missing several from point blank, shot just 33.3% for the game on 25-of-75 from the floor and 6-of-28 from long range. Tech held a 51-44 advantage on the boards, including 27 from the offensive end but could not convert the second chance opportunities for points.
C of I, meanwhile was held to 36.5% for the game on 23-of-64 overall and 5-of-19 from the 3-point line. They Yotes connected on 22-for-27 from the charity stripe, while grabbing 19 rebounds on the offensive end.
Kassi Conditt finished with a double-double scoring 14 points and grabbing 16 rebounds, including 11 on the offensive end. Tess Armstrong led the Owls with 16 points and Ashleigh Vandenbrink 16 points and eight rebounds in the loss for Tech.
Elisha Hensey scored a game-high 23 points, with 10 of those coming from the charity stripe. Chakala Carthen followed with a double-double 17 points and 13 rebounds, including eight offensive. Aleah Lowber and Erica Martinez chipped in 12 points each.
Oregon Tech will next travel to La Grande to face No. 24 Eastern Oregon University, winners tonight over Southern Oregon, beginning at 5:30 PM.
