CALDWELL, Idaho – College of Idaho used a 9-2 run to take a double digit advantage early in the second period and sustained the lead throughout to earn an 83-64 victory in Cascade Collegiate Conference men’s basketball action tonight at the J.A. Albertson Center in Caldwell.

Oregon Tech falls to 7-6 overall and 2-1 in CCC play.  C of I improved to 11-4 on the season and 2-1 in the conference standings.

Kyle Waits recorded a double-double with 22 points to go with 10 rebounds for Tech.  Duncan Schramm followed with 14 points with Josh Johnson chipping in 10 points and seven rebounds.  Derek Evans added nine points and five rebounds in the loss for the Owls.

C of I’s Taylor Pruett finished with a game-high 24 points adding nine rebounds in the win for the Yotes.  Josh Wilson netted 17 points and grabbed seven boards with Demetrius Perkins recording 14 points and Jordan O’Byrne 12 points. 

Oregon Tech managed just a 37.3% effort from the field on 22-of-59 shooting overall, hitting on only 4-of-24 attempts from beyond the arch.  The Owls got to the free throw line 28 times connecting on only 16 (57.1%).

The Yotes, meanwhile, hit on 50.0% of their attempts (30-for-60) for the game and 6-of-18 from long range (33.3%).  C of I finished 17-for-32 at the charity stripe and held a slight 42-40 advantage in rebounding.  The Yotes would force 21 Tech miscues on the night.

Oregon Tech will next travel to La Grande, Ore. to face Eastern Oregon University, losers tonight to Southern Oregon, with the tip-off set for 7:30 PM.
