KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – In the teams' second meeting of the season, the Oregon Tech Lady Owls shot 52.9% from the field and methodically pulled away from New Hope Christian College to earn a 90-29 non-conference win over the Deacons tonight at Danny Miles Court.
Oregon Tech remains undefeated on the year at 13-0 and next will host Pacific Union College on Tuesday in the Owls’ last non-conference game of the season. Tip-off is set for 6 PM at Danny Miles Court.
11 Owls recorded points in the win with Ashleigh Vandenbrink leading the way with a game-high 16 points on 7-of-11 from the field. Karissa Dixon finished with 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting and added four rebounds four assists, three steals and a pair of blocks. Mary Drzayich, in a reserve role, also finished with 12 points, including a 3-for-4 effort from long range. Tess Armstrong added 11 points and Karly LeVeque 10 to round out the double figure scoring. Maria Ramirez dished out 10 assists and grabbed seven rebounds in the win.
Lie Lolohea netted 13 points to lead the Deacons, while grabbing eight rebounds and notched five assists. Dorian Perkey added eight points and Natriana Shorter five on the loss.
For the game the Owls connected on 37-of-70 (52.9%), including a 12-for-27 effort from the 3-point line. Tech recorded 32 assists to just 10 turnovers in the game and held a decisive 47-26 advantage in rebounds.
Oregon Tech held NHC to just 21.6% shooting (11-of-51) for the game and forced18 turnovers on the night.
