KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - Oregon Tech head softball coach Greg Stewart announced recently that Mazama High School standout Lynzee Wortman has signed a letter of intent and will join the Owls softball squad for the 2015 season.
Wortman is a three-time first-team All Skyline Conference honoree, while earning Second-Team All-State recognition her sophomore season and First-Team All-State accolades as a junior outfielder for the Vikings in 2013. Wortman holds a .448 career batting average at MHS, as the three year starter has recorded 104 hits, 20 doubles, 7 triples, 85 runs scored and 57 RBI. Wortman, a starting pitcher for the Vikings, begins her senior season at MHS this spring.
Lynzee will be a second generation Owl, as her father, Laine, played two seasons of basketball under Coach Dan Miles.
“Lynzee is a big part of our recruiting efforts for our 2015 squad,” mentioned Stewart. “She is a very good hitting lefty with pop, has a strong arm, and will be a nice addition to our outfield in 2015. She is strong academically and will give our program another top notch student-athlete.”
Lynzee is the daughter of Laine and Angie Wortman and will major in Business Management at Tech beginning next fall.
