ASHLAND, Ore – Oregon Tech’s Rebekah Nisbet scored the game’s only goal in the 48th minute lifting the Lady Owls to a 1-0 win Saturday afternoon at University Field.

The win for Oregon Tech (6-8-1, 3-4-0) was the first since 2009 against Southern Oregon (8-4-3, 4-2-1) and snapped Tech’s four game losing streak to the Raiders. The win also keeps the Owls postseason hopes alive with two games remaining.

After a scoreless first half, Oregon Tech took control of the game in the 3rd minute of the second half as Nisbet scored from 25 yards out. The goal was her team leading seventh of the season.

For the game, SOU held an 11-4 advantage in shots with OIT holding a 3-2 advantage in shots on goal.

Oregon Tech Goal Keeper Rebekah Matteri picked up the shut out win between the pipes. It was the first time in six games that the Raiders had not scored.

Oregon Tech will wrap up the regular season next week starting in Kirkland, Wash. against Northwest University on Halloween at 3:00 pm and next Saturday, November 2 at Evergreen State in Olympia, Wash. at 1:00 pm. The Owls currently sit in the sixth and final playoff spot in the Cascade Conference.
