LA GRANDE, Ore. – Oregon Tech’s Karissa Dixon, has been voted the 2013-14 CCC’s Preseason Player of the Year, according to a poll of the conference’s 10 head coaches. Teammate Kassi Conditt was selected to all-star squad as well, announced Tuesday by the league office.
A two-time CCC All-Conference selection, Dixon headlines a 15-person team that features 12 returnees and three newcomers. The 5-10 senior guard returns to lead an Oregon Tech team that finished third last year with a 13-5 CCC record. The Owls advanced through the quarterfinal round before being eliminated in the semifinal game.
Tech returns four starters to the hardwood this season, including senior post Kassi Conditt. A first-team all-conference selection last season, Conditt joins Dixon on the preseason all-star squad this year.
Dixon led Tech in scoring at 13.9 ppg and was second on the team in steals (40), rebounds (6.6) and assists (88). Conditt averaged nearly a double-double on the season with 11.0 points per game and grabbed 9.8 rebounds per contest. Conditt’s 88 blocks led the team and Cascade Conference.
