Caldwell, Idaho—Oregon Tech’s Daisha Acorda scored her first goal of the season just six minutes into the game as the Lady Owls downed College of Idaho Thursday afternoon 1-0 at Simplot Stadium to pick up their first Cascade Conference win of the season and improve to 1-2 CCC play and 4-6-1 on the season. College of Idaho slips to 3-7-0 on the season and also now 1-2 in CCC action.
The Owls earned a corner kick in the seventh minute, with Rebekah Nisbet playing a ball to the left side of the area. A shot by Jackie Gardner was blocked by the Yotes defense, but the ball found the foot of Acorda who shot into the right corner of the net for the lead.
C of I had five shots on goal in the second half alone, including a Reilly Coyle 20-yard blast in the 52nd minute that missed just high, as a Camas Curran header in the 86th minute turned away by OIT keeper Rebekah Matteri who earned the shut-out victory with 7 saves on the day.
