KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Oregon Tech’s Jimmie Hernandez scored the game winner just four minutes into the game as Oregon Tech held on to down Northwest University 1-0 Friday evening at Trevor Derrah Field at Steen Sports Park. The win marked the first time since 2010 that the Hustlin’ Owls had won back to back Cascade Conference games; they defeated Norwest Christian on Tuesday.

Hernandez scored on quick play as Jackson Wold sent a cross off a deflection that found Hernandez who scored his third goal of the season from 10 yards out just 3 minutes and 55 seconds into the match.

Each team would have opportunities over the next 86 minutes with neither able to find the net.

Oregon Tech was forced to play a man down over the final 19 minutes of play after Hernandez was sent off on a questionable second yellow penalty.

For the game The Eagles outshot Tech 22-9 and had a 8-3 advantage in shots on goal.

Tech’s Keeper Loren Jesson picked up the shut-out win as he was credited with 8 saves on the night.
