KLAMATH FALLS, Ore.--On a cold blustery day, Northwest Christian University got a goal from Bailie Reinwald one minute into the game and then held on to down Oregon Tech 1-0 in the Cascade Conference opener for both teams Tuesday afternoon at Trevor Derrah Field at Steen Sports Park. The Beacons move to 3-6-0 on the season and 1-0 in CCC action with the win. Tech falls to 0-1 in Conference play and 3-5-1 on the season with the loss.

Just one minute and thirteen seconds into the game, Melyssa Weber found Reinwald on a cross, after the Tech defender slipped; Reinwald scored the eventual game winner in the lower left corner of the OIT goal giving Northwest Christian the 1-0 lead.

For the game, Oregon Tech out-shot NCU 21-12 and held a slim advantage in shots on goal at 9-8 with Rebekah Nisbet taking the majority of both for the Owls.

NCU Keeper Kristin Fulbright had 9 saves in picking up the shut-out win. Tech’s Rebekah Matteri had 7 saves in picking up the loss between the pipes.

Oregon Tech will try to bounce back this Thursday as the Lady Owls host Corban University at 7:00 pm at Steen Sports Park.
