Kayleigh Chambers

Alumna, Class of 2011
Major(s): Echocardiography
Hometown: Weed, California

Why did you choose OIT?

I chose OIT because I was interested in the medical imaging program. The various modalities to choose from and the hands-on experience during school are very appealing. I love the fact that the equipment we will someday use in our field of work is available to practice on with professors at OIT.

What do you like best about your major?

I have the privilege of studying the most fascinating organ in the human body every day, the heart.

What clubs or activities are you involved with?

I am involved with the Echocardiography Club and the TOP Program. I have been a math tutor and a teacher’s aide in physics.

What career do you hope to have after you graduate from OIT?

I hope to have a career in Echocardiography upon graduation from OIT. I would someday like to expand my career into Pediatric Echocardiography and cross-train into Vascular or General Ultrasound.

Do you have any advice for incoming students?

When your schoolwork seems impossible, keep your bright future in mind and all of the good things to come. This will give you motivation to push through, because only success will come from graduating from OIT.
