January 25, 2016 - Moda, Inc. informed Oregon Tech late in 2015 that its collaborative Dental Hygiene Program at the ODS College of Dental Sciences in La Grande will close after the graduating class in March 2017. Learn more...
During this transition period, Oregon Tech faculty for the Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Dental Hygiene will teach out the current La Grande group of enrolled students. While no new students will be accepted at the La Grande location, students studying pre-dental hygiene coursework at EOU are encouraged to continue their education by applying to Oregon Tech’s Bachelor's Degree Program which has two locations, one at the Chemeketa Community College campus in Salem and the other at the Oregon Tech campus in Klamath Falls.
Much of the learning occurs in the state-of-the-art dental hygiene clinic provided by ODS. It is there that students have the opportunity to use some of the latest technologies. Off-campus clinical rotations at community clinics, long-term care facilities, and correctional institutes expand student's clinic skills.
Students are also involved in community outreach projects including Give Kids a Smile and dental health presentations in the local schools.
Upon successful completion of the program, students earn an Associate of Applied Science degree in Dental Hygiene from Oregon Tech. Students may then pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Dental Hygiene through Oregon Tech's online degree completion program.
